Man run over by speeding vehicle

A man in his early twenties was run over by a speeding vehicle on the Kharar-Ropar National Highway 21 near Padiala village,6 km from Kharar,on Saturday evening. Maninder Singh was going to Kurali on his scooter when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction hit him and sped away. The incident took place close to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Khalsa College. Singh was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital. Police have booked the unknown vehicle driver for causing death by rash and negligent driving.
