Man stabbed in Southeast Delhi for intervening in quarrel

A 32-year-old man had to pay with his life for intervening in a scuffle between two groups of youngsters.

A 32-year-old man had to pay with his life for intervening in a scuffle between two groups of youngsters. One of them allegedly stabbed him in Southeast Delhi on Monday.

According to the police,the incident was reported from Timur Nagar in the New Friends Colony police station area late on Sunday night. The victim has been identified as Govardhan,who worked in a dairy. Govardhan intervened in a fight between four men,who were under the influence of alcohol,outside a dairy owned by one Zile Singh,where he had been working for the past 15 years.

“He intervened and asked them leave the area. An argument followed and one of them took out a knife and stabbed Govardhan in the chest,” a senior police officer said.

The police added that all four youths then escaped and dairy workers rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police have detained a few suspects. A case of murder has been registered at the New Friends Colony police station.
