Man United likely to sign Inter Milan midfielder Sneijder

Manchester United’s hopes of signing midfielder Wesley Sneijder have been given a boost.

Manchester United’s hopes of signing midfielder Wesley Sneijder have been given a boost after Inter Milan revealed that they could be prepared to sell him this summer.

According to The Sun,Inter Milan manager Gian Piero Gasperini has hinted that he could be prepared to sell Sneijder in a bid to raise funds for new recruits.

Gasperini cited the example of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was sold to Barcelona for 39 million pounds in 2009 and included Samuel Eto’o as part of the deal,as an example of how they have improved after selling a big-name player.

“There is every intention on the club’s part to come out of the transfer window stronger — not less so. But two years ago,Ibrahimovic left and the team was reinforced,” Gasperini said.

“All the players I have know how to play in many different roles. Last year,Sneijder also played in different positions,” he added.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is a firm admirer of Sneijder’s talents and was linked with a 29 million pounds bid for the 27-year-old last year.

Sneijder has been in terrific form for Inter since joining from Real Madrid in 2009 and was a key member of their historic Treble-winning side two seasons ago.
