Bala’s wife Nilima is ready to donate her kidney if money could be raised for the transplant.
“I am ready to give him my kidney. The doctors at the SSKM have also agreed. But we do not have any money,” she said.
Meghna Bhattacharjee, SDO (South), Burdwan, said: “He has approached us with the request for euthanasia. But how can such a request be granted. We are trying to help him out. I have already sent a team to his house for inspection and we have asked for a cost estimate of the transplant.”
