A 20-year-old management graduate has been arrested for allegedly impersonating as a student in a entrance test of Jamia Millia Islamia,police said today.
Sohail Ahmed Siddiq,a graduate from Jaganath Institute of Management Studies here,was arrested for impersonating as Arsalan Khan in the Social Science Group-I entrance test yesterday.
In a daring incident of impersonation and cheating,two candidates with same name,fathers name,mothers name and same address appeared in the Entrance Test of Social Science Group-I of Faculty of Fine Arts, Ajay Chaudhry,Addl Commissioner of Police,South East District,Delhi,said.
Both candidates were called after examination upon suspicion by the University authorities.
On interrogation,one of the candidates disclosed that his actual name is Sohail Ahmed Siddiq and he had impersonated Arsalan Khan with the intention of helping one Saddam Husain brother of his friend Asim. Siddiq has been arrested in the case, the official said.
Siddiq claimed that he appeared in the examination only to help his friend and refused to have received any monetary consideration,he said.
