An ultra-modern Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus stand at an estimated cost of Rs 35 crore will soon come up on a 1.983-hectare piece of land in the tourist town of Manali. Transport Minister Mahender Singh Thakur said this here on Monday. Addressing the media,the minister said two Volvo and nine Tata air-conditioned buses would be added to the fleet operating on the Manali-Delhi route,while the Manali-Shimla route would get two deluxe buses. Thakur was accompanied by local legislator Govind Singh Thakur. The minister said work on ten bus stands was complete while that on 11 bus stands and 12 rain shelters was in progress. To promote tourism,Thakur said,new routes such as Manali-Dehradun and Mussourie-Dhalousie would be started. Earlier,the minister flagged off a new AC day bus from Manali to Delhi.
