Singh may either travel to Washington DC later in the day or, depending on the two leaders’ schedules, meet in New York. Diplomats are also trying to fix meetings with the two presidential candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain, depending on the availability of time.
On the sidelines of Singh’s speech at the UN General Assembly, a number of bilateral meetings are being planned with key world leaders, many of them from countries that had played a key role in Vienna in forging a consensus for the India specific NSG waiver.
