Naxals are ready for talks if their demands are met.

With the Naxals facing the heat of an imminent concerted operation by security forces, a top Maoist leader on Thursday said the ultras were ready for talks "if there was ceasefire on both sides" and withdrawal of the para-military forces deployed in the naxal-hit states.

"The process of talks with the central government can only begin if there is ceasefire on both sides," top Maoist leader Kishenji on Thursday said.

Asked to comment on the Centre's condition that the Maoists should abjure violence and only then it was ready to sit across the table, Kishenji said over phone, "The Centre is killing innocent people in the name of tackling the Maoists and they are asking us to abjure violence, which is ridiculous."

He said the Centre would have to withdraw para-military forces from the seven states -- Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal – and treat the problems of tribals in a sympathetic way.

"Also both the Centre and the state governments will have to apologise to the tribals for the prolonged atrocity meted out to them and the consequent suffering from the time of Independence," Kishenji said.

Asked what should be the nature of the apology, Kishenji said without elaborating, "They will have to come to the tribals and apologise."

Maoist Trinamool Congress ConditionBy: Chanchal Dutta | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Who is Kisenji? Maoist is a corrupt outfit & have links with few so called intellectuals and Trinamool Congress party in West Bengal. Killing innocent poor people and ordinary police personnel is not a crime? Every body has a right to work for the Adivasis and against Central Para MIlitary forces atrocities. But Maoist are not the sole agent to dictate terms.Goverment must come out openly and expose who are behind these Maoist. Innocent people must not be victimised unnecessarily to aggravate more problems.

Naxal's TalksBy: Mohinder Chahal | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward I think this is very positive approach for India's development. I appreciate Dr. Manmohan Singh's approach towards Naxal problem as he said Govt. should carry tribals and other poor sections of the country along as for as the fruits of development are concerned. Naxals or any other organization is human first than violent. I agree India should not tolerate any kind of violence but to stop that must study the root cause of that problem. We should not cut the branches of the tree but remove its roots so that it does not grow again. India is close to achieve this goal if the hands of the PM are strengthened by all political parties. Fighting with its citizens on military lines can culminate into a civil war which is not at all good for a country as is happening in our neighboring countries.
Tribals must raise their through standard democratic processBy: Shri | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Nation and its people can not tolerate anybody to take guns in their hand to raise their voice of concern. It is thwarting economic development of the our country which some of our neighboure do not wish..We must act wisely and smartly to tackle these types of issues
