  • “After this attack, I am scared to enter Mumbai. I don’t feel safe in Mumbai anymore. Politicians will resign and be ousted, but there is no one who will assure me of my safety in this city,” said Zamir, whose family runs a businessmaking steel tins in Sholapur.

“My brother Sameer called us after reaching Saudi Arabia. We assured him that things are under control now and told him to return soon after Haj, as my mother keeps remembering him,” he said, adding, “Mare bhi Mussalmaan aur badnaam bhi ho raha hai Mussalmaan.”

"Mare bhi" - How self-serving can you get?By: Faiz Hakim | 05-Dec-2008 Reply | Forward I don't understand what this guy is complaining about. First of all I cannot imagine ducking away when my mother is being shot at but then this gentleman has to live with his behavior of hiding in a men's toilet leaving behind his female relatives to be gunned down. But that is besides the point. The shooters were obviously Musalmans therefore it is natural and obvious that the community share in the blame to a degree. What is he complaining about? And I do not buy the argument "that these terrorists were not muslims because muslims are not supposed to kill innocents". It is a circular argument. As a statement of disgust it is fine but it could easily be used to deflect criticism of the state of affairs within the Islamic community which is in dire need of reformation.
