Mariah Carey says she’s not surprised that Susan Boyle freaked out after her sudden rise to stardom.
The Scottish singing sensation became a star overnight when she showed off her singing skills on U.K. TV show Britain’s Got Talent.
However, the instant fame took toll on Boyle, who checked into a mental health clinic after suffering an emotional breakdown following her final appearance on the show.
And Carey, who herself suffered a physical and emotional breakdown in 2001,believes instant success is hard to deal with.
“I feel bad for her… We build people up so quickly now that of course its going to freak some people out. Its difficult. Its got to be tough,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
