The benchmark Sensex extended losses to 3 per cent on Friday afternoon, tracking a sell-off in overseas markets after the US government's $700 billion bank bailout plan stalled. Reliance Industries led the slide.
At 3:34 p.m., the benchmark 30-share BSE index was down 3.05 per cent, or 413.10 points, at 13,134.08, with all but three components falling.
The NSE index was down 2.91 per cent at 3,991.05.
