    The BJP thus became a hybrid organisation, which is now looking for a stable personality. Vajpayee and Advani could not agree on Modi. Now, the BJP cannot recognise the ‘real face’ from the several masks that it has acquired for electoral persuasion. Once it had a strong urban base. Now it has lost all the major cities. Till a few months ago, Modi was promoted as a corporate as well as militant icon.

    In Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, the vast majority across classes and castes, has found the real plural India. Today, along with the markets, most Indian people have introspected and recognised the the folly of militant Mandir and Mandal politics. That is why we saw the decimation of Mulayam and Mayawati, the marginalisation of Pawar and Paswan, and the discomfiture of Advani and Modi. Plural India has triumphed.

There has never been any monetary inducement or coercion in this land. Not a single dime of the millions the church recives is linked directly and proportionately to the numbers converted to the 'flock'.4) Also, pls do do write one more piece on how the Naxalites-maoists have nothing to do with the mainstream Left parties. How none of the many NGO's like YUVA and so called civil liberties and human rights organizations have no secret supporters and activists of the extreme left.Thank you and looking forward to your writings Mr. Ketkar.

Now can you kindly give us equally passionate articles explaining how1) There is not a single rabidly communal Muslim organization in our country and there is nothing but just pure egalitarian Islam being preached in every Madrassa of our country.2) The ally of the Congress and the left, Adul Madani of the Islamic Seva Sangh and such outfits is a 'washed in milk' secular pluralistic Indian. So are the the former Razakars who have regrouped as Majlis-e-Ittehad ul-Muslimeen in Hyderabad. These organizations, including the Indian Muslim league, have no connection with SIMI, Indian Mujahadeen, Deccan Mujahadeen etc etc. They are anything but right wing. TO BE CONTD.

It's apparent to any sane, unprejudiced mind who and what is the fountainhead. Instead of abusing Mr Ketkar for his forthright, no-nonsense views you all must understand that in a pluralistic nation such as ours, such virulent ideologies (and I mean of all hues) do not and cannot take the country far. Mr. Ketkar's Maharashtrian credentials are a relief and a beacon of hope in the cesspool of intellectual dishonesty and the "set positions" people inevitably take when it concerns their caste/creed/religion. Hats off Sir, may you keep wielding your pen with all honesty despite the poison that flows unabated here. Intellectuals like you are a rarity. And if India's election results are any indicator, the average Indian citizen is certainly nowhere close to harbouring as much prejudice as is dripping on this message board. Jai Hind. And Jai to the idea of India!
