Actor Matt Damon missed out on US President Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony as he refused to pay USD 50,000 for two tickets for the big event.

The 38-year-old actor campaigned for the President Obama for more than two years and thought that his efforts would secure him tickets for the inauguration ceremony.

However, his request for two seats for himself and his wife Luciana was turned down.

“When I called my contacts from the campaign, they just started laughing…We worked on the campaign for two and a half years, and we’re not going. Forget it,” Damon told in an interview to ‘Access Hollywood’.

“Then, they called me back the next day and said,’Hey,we’ve got two tickets for you,in the bleachers, and you’ll actually be able to see Obama take the oath. Just (USD) 25,000 apiece,” he said.

Damon and his wife refused to go and decided to watch the inauguration from their home in Florida.
