Present V-C R C Sobti's term ends on July 22 and Arun Grover, who will be 12th PU V-C since independence, has been asked to join office immediately after that. Grover may, however, seek time to discontinue with his current assignments. "I am now involved in some activities and projects at TIFR. Leaving the projects mid-way, especially those where the career prospects of my students are involved, will be difficult for me. But I will try to meet the expectations of the authorities and join PU at the earliest," he said.
