  • “HAR pal yahan goli aur bomb hai. Phir bhi woh kehte hai jurm kum hai. Kitna hai jhoota woh besharam. Banegi behanji phir se CM.” A rendition of this BSP song, set to the tune of a popular Bollywood number, is greeted with applause at Ram Nagari, where party chief Mayawati today concluded her campaign for the Assembly elections.

Along with her routine tirade on Mulayam Singh Yadav, the BSP chief also targeted the Congress for supporting Samajwadi Kranti Dal candidate Beni Prasad Verma in Ayodhya. She also blamed the Congress for the poor condition of the state. Mayawati said criminals would be put behind bars if the BSP was voted back to power and “there won’t be any compromise on this issue”. Lashing out at the Congress, BJP and the RLD, she said: “These parties were behind the formation of the Mulayam government and hence people should not forgive them. Only the BSP is capable of removing the evil forces. We are forming the government alone and don’t need the support of others,” she added. At the meeting, attended by a large number of Muslims, Mayawati said she would solve the Ayodhya issue if voted to power.
