Bahujan Samaj Party chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati never wanted herself to be projected as the prime ministerial candidate on behalf of the Third Front, Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu said in Hyderabad.

"It is only the media that sought to project Mayawati as the prime ministerial candidate. The Third Front will name the candidate for Prime Minister's post through consensus after the elections," Chandrababu said.

Reacting to Mayawati's statement that her party would not align with any other party for the forthcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh, the TDP leader pointed out that political parties contest the elections separately and come together after the polls.

"It happened even in 1996, when the first coalition government was formed at the Centre, and later in 1999 and 2004. The same will happen even now. We all will come together after the elections and form an alternative government," Chandrababu asserted.

While parties like the CPI, CPI(M), TDP, JD(S) and AIADMK have already joined the Third Front, more parties would join after the elections, he said.

Beware of MayawatiBy: Tarique Germany | 23-May-2009 Reply | Forward Beware of MayawatiIs Mayawati is the only dalit daughter of India? Why does she always says that why not Dalit daughter become PM of India, My Answer to her question is that she is not the only Dalit daughter of India, why don’t she promote other Dalit daughter and give them also a chance to become a CM and leave her CM seat for other Dalit daughter. She is playing with the Dalits . If she is really the Dalits well wisher then I would like to advice Mayawati its time to act not to play with Dalits.
projection of advani as PMBy: M.SHOAIB | 16-Mar-2009 Reply | Forward We need a young and visionary PM, secular and unbiased. He wanted all powers during Bajpai'S regime. Since he is over ambitious, I donot recommend him as PM

MAYAWATI'S ASPIRATIONSBy: Niranjan | 16-Mar-2009 Reply | Forward NAIDU MUST BE DEAF, BLIND AND ILLITERATE NOT TO KNOW THAT MAYAWATI HAS PROJECTED HERSELF AS A PM CANDIDATE FOR QUITE SOME TIME. BUT THEN POLITICIANS SPEAK THE CONVENIENT 'FACTS' AS AND WHEN NECESSARY. AND I THOUGHT NAIDU WAS ABOVE IT.
No Coalitions at Centre RequiredBy: Bharat Momaya | 15-Mar-2009 Reply | Forward Congress as a singular party offers the best option for a good government. We Indians must now learn to elect two or three parties for the Parliament and discourage Coalitions at Centre for our better future. We have seen how these "FRONTS" of various types and kinds are arm twisting ruling parties and work against the interests of the country. THESE FRONTS ARE NUISANCES AS CAN BE SEEN FROM PAST EXPERIENCES. We must vote in few parties like Congress / BJP / NCP for ruling our country at National Level. Coalitions may be left for State elections and not for National elections.
