The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC) have been booked for allegedly breaching the Arms Act, the police said on Saturday.
Mayor Satish Captain, Deputy Mayor Girish Kotecha and one Shernath Bapu have been booked under the Act for allegedly opening fire from their licensed revolvers at the Girnar Parikrama yesterday, the police said.
Junagadh Sub-Inspector N B Joshi lodged the complaint with Junagadh ‘A’ division police station against the three, but no action has been taken against the three, the police said.
Meanwhile, the Bharat Sadhu Samaj has demanded that the complaints against the three be withdrawn. — PTI
