The consortium of Nagarjuna Constructions with Siemens, Emirates Trading Agency, Magna Allmore was the second best bidder for the project. Others who bid include Reliance Energy Ltd with Bombardier Transportation GmbH of Canada; Essar Constructions, with Singapore MRT; and GVK group with Gammon, Alstom Corporation of France and IDFC Ltd. Maytas Infra was unable to achieve financial closure in March and, as per the agreement providing for a 180-day extenstion, sought that much time from the state government.
