Mazdoor union decries globalisation

More than 30,000 masons, carpenters, welders etc from all over the state participated in a rally organised by Punjab Nirman Mazdoor Union at the Grain Market on Monday.

More than 30,000 masons, carpenters, welders etc from all over the state participated in a rally organised by Punjab Nirman Mazdoor Union at the Grain Market on Monday.

Addressing the rally, Harinder Singh Randhawa, general secretary of the union, said that workers should get ready to wage battle against the policy of globalisation, which was the “root cause of unemployment in the country.”

President of the union, Ganga Prasad criticized the state government for dilly-dallying the implementation of Central Act of 1996 despite clear orders of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Mangat Ram Pasla, president of the Centre of Trade Unions, K.N. Ramachandran and many others addressed the rally.
