The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Goa Police has arrested two persons linked to Sanatan Sanstha in connection with the October 16 bomb blast in Margao which killed two Sanatan men who were allegedly planning to plant them at Diwali celebrations. Police sources said of the two arrested on Saturday, one is an MBA and worked as an assistant manager with a five-star hotel in Goa.
"Vinay Talekar, 27, and Vinayak Patil, 30, were well acquainted with Malgounda Patil and Yogesh Naik who died in the bomb blast," said Atmaram Deshpande, SP (Special Branch).
The sources said the arrests were made on the basis of clues from the mobile phone used by Malgounda Patil. "After the blasts, the two were supposed to meet Malgounda Patil and Yogesh Naik at Vasco. They had a detailed plan about the blasts," said a senior officer.
