A day after demolition exercise was carried out near the Lakkar bridge, joint commissioner, Municipal Corporation, KP Brar today inspected the offices in the fire brigade central office where the records of demolished MC offices have been shifted. Interestingly, most of the offices located on the top floor of fire brigade office are without doors and windows.
While talking to Newsline, Brar said, “I am satisfied with the record-keeping of birth and death department. It is in a closed room and it has been well kept. However the other departments like accounts, audit etc branches which have also shifted from the Lakkar bridge office to this office are not kept well. They could have been kept in a better way.”
It needs to be mentioned that the employees were earlier told to shift their records to zones A and B and earlier the stock was also shifted in Zone A, but the staff in Zone A refused to adust with the new departments because of space crunch. Zone D was another suggested place by the joint commissioner, but yesterday the zonal commissioner Vinod Sharda told the employees to shift to the fire brigade office on top floor, which they did.
Brar said, “I am not sure whether these offices will now be shifted to zone D or not, but except birth and death, certainly I am not happy with the record keeping of rest of the offices which have been more or less dumped in rooms. They could have been better managed.”
