The MC building branch team today went out to clear encroachments on the MC land on the Pakhowal Road. As per the MC records, the encroachers had reduced the 24-feet wide MC road to mere 11 feet. A total of nine structures had been constructed on the area, which included three shops while the remaining were plots with boundary walls.
The team under the supervision of Assistant Town Planner Ramesh Chabbra had gone to demolish the encroachments but came back after razing boundary walls of the vacant plots.
But the boundary walls were demolished from one side only. The shopkeepers were given one day to remove their goods.
