City Muslims serve for Vithoba
In an example of communal harmony, Usmanbhai Gilder, a Muslim by faith, is participates in the Ashadi Ekadashi, the cleaning up of Vithoba temple. Trader by profession, Gilder IS also associated with Ranka Jewelers, who has been cleaning and polishing the metal shrine, doors and other silver wares and articles. However, Gilder, along with his family, voluntarily goes for the process.

Gilder too has been apart of it since many years.This year too, Gilder is involved in polishing the shrine, the doors and so on. While the process began with only 15 to 20 people, it has been joined by around 175 people participate in the process. Gilder and his sons karim,hamid had participated in the process.The cleaning and polishing goes on for two full days. He takes up the responsibility of polishing the silver ware. “Serving God is satisfying and i would continue doing the ghood work, says Gilder.
