  • Asthma rehabilitation camp held
    The Academy of Asthma and Allergy and the Lions club of Pune has organised an asthma rehabilitation camp for those suffering from the disease. The camp is on till May 30 and the registration for the same is free of charge. The patients will be tested for Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT) and allergy tests at concessional rates. The camp is being held at the World Natural Health Organisation clinic (WNHO) on Tilak road and is based on various alternative therapies like acupuncture, laser therapy, yoga and pranayam and meditation. In addition, the WNHO is also starting certificate courses for doctors, counselors and health instructors, and basically includes courses in holistic therapy, counseling and training.

    Rotary Club donates ambulance
    The Rotary Club of Pune Gandhi Bhavan donated a neo-natal ambulance and portable incubator with ventilator to the Pune Trilokya Bauddha Mahasangh in Dapodi recently. Presented by Dr Goving Datar, the project is worth Rs 6 lakh and was under the Rotary Foundation Matching Grant; it was granted assistance by the Rotary Club of Gandhi Bhawan and Chandler Ford and Itchen Valley, UK.

    Brahmotsav celebrated
    The festival of Brahmotsav was recently celebrated with a lot of fervour at the Lord Balaji temple wherein devotees thronged the place to celebrate it. The idol of Lord Balaji was adorned with silver ornaments and coupled with various decorations. In addition to this various other functions like the Maha Abhishek, the Venkatesh Suprabhath, Sukhtapatan, Aarti, and pooja to Lord Balaji was held. The event was held at the Balaji Temple in Kasba Peth.

    Kriya Yoga meditation workshop
    The National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN) played host to a two-day free workshop on Kriya Yoga -Meditation on May 23 and today at their premises on Tadiwala Road. Aimed at making Kriya Yoga more accessible to the public, the workshop, conducted by Gyanmataji Dr Radha Satyam, is open for all. It's a day-long event, beginning at 9 am and continuing upto 7 pm, with lunch and tea being served at NIN.

    Free healing sessions held
    The Divine Health Centre wherein a Chennai based DH Jagtap held a free healing session for people recently; a devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba held the healing process. People suffering from various maladies both physical and mental were treated during the session.In addition to various mental and physical problems prayer sessions for those who were suffering with other problems was also held. The session was held at the office of the Divine Healing Centre in Parihar Chowk.

    Introductory Hinduism classes
    Introduction classes for boys and girls wherein they will be taught Hinduism will be held from May 25-to May 30. The class will be held for boys and girls aged between 12-19 years at the Arya Samaj in Pimpri. The classes will be conducted by H Vapta.
