At a rally organised in Vikaspuri on Sunday,BJP West Delhi candidate Jagdish Mukhi enumerated the failures of the Congress government.
He asked the voters to cast their ballot in favour of an educated man,as against his less educated opponent.
On issues ranging from price rise to unemployment,Mukhi tried to reach out to the aam aadmi with promises of favourable economic policies.
The Congress has failed to generate employment for two crore people, and,at the same time, has left another three crore without jobs, all in the name of the slowdown. They have set up an army of five crore unemployed youths and if they are allowed to stay in power even for another two years, there will be 15 crore unemployed youths, Mukhi said.
Price rise and the Congress have a positive correlation. Whenever they come to power, prices go up, he said.
Mukhi also addressed the issues of terrorism, banning alcohol and lotteries, while proudly proclaiming the Metro as the BJPs gift to the Capital.
The reasonably large crowd gathered at Vikaspuri was disappointed when senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj failed to make it for the public meeting, thanks to a delayed flight.
Party sources said Swaraj had called off another rally in Bhatinda to attend this one,as the senior leader shares a special rapport with Mukhis wife.
After her flight was delayed,Swaraj chose to head directly to another BJP rally, where prime ministerial candidate L K Advani was to address a gathering.
When the news of Swaraj not attending his rally reached him,Mukhi hurriedly wrapped up his speech and rushed to the partys Dwarka rally, where Advani and Swaraj were in attendance.
