Metro crosses Delhi borders

  • Delhi Metro entered the NCR region for the first time on Monday, when the DMRC began the trial run between Yamuna Bank and Noida Sector 16 Metro stations.

    Total distance covered (one side)

    8 km approx

    Two trial runs were undertaken on Monday

    Trials to be extended to Noida Sector 32 by the first week of November

    Yamuna Bank-Noida Sector 32 line to be opened by first week of December

    Speed of train on Monday

    10-20 km/hr

    Maximum speed targetted during trial runs

    80 km/hr

    Number of passengers DMRC expects to add with Noida line: 53,000

    Trains will run for 8 hours every day during trials

    The Siemens-provided signalling system, Automatic Train Protection (ATP) was also tested
