Metropolitan Institutes of Hotel Management to start community colleges

  • Metropolitan Institutes and Colleges of Hotel Management , a hotel management institute affiliated to Pune University, will be the first institute in the city to offer students a Masters Programme in Food Processing Technology and also launch community Colleges in the state.

    Speaking to reporters Vilas B, Sawant, president of MET said that, “Metropolitan Institute of Hotel Management will be the Hotel management institute in the city to offer the course, he said that the management has decided to introduce the course looking at the growing area of food processing technology and government’s initiatives of launching Food Parks all over the country.

    The course will provide skilled and trained manpower to the upcoming industry,” he said.

    The training given will cover food processing, handling, adultration control, HACCP, and new ISO Rules coming in the food industry.

    Sawant also announced that Metropolitan will also launch community colleges in Kolhapur, Nashik, Ratnagiri Ahmednagar and Pune districts which will offer offer short term courses.
