Michelle,Sasha Obama to take a summer break in Spain

Michelle Obama along with her younger daughter Sasha will head to Spain next week on a vacation,where they will be joined by family friends,the White House said.

US first lady Michelle Obama along with her younger daughter Sasha will head to Spain next week on a vacation,where they will be joined by family friends,the White House said.

The mother-daughter duo will take a summer break in Spain,while the Obamas’ elder daughter Malia will spend time at a summer camp. President Barack Obama too will not join his wife and daughter.

“The First Lady will travel to Spain next week for a private,mother-daughter trip with longtime family friends.

President Obama will not be joining this trip,” the White House said in a statement.

It said,Michelle Obama will also pay an official visit to Their Majesties King Juan Carlos and Queen Sophia of Spain at their invitation.

No additional details of the visit were immediately available. However,Spanish press reports say the trip is scheduled for August 4-8 at the Villa Padierna in Marbella.

Obama,who will not be travelling on this trip,will celebrate his 49th birthday August 4 with a fundraiser at the home of Chicago billionaire Neil Bluhm,The Chicago Sun Times said.

The Obamas would have their family vacation later in August: a weekend on the Florida Gulf Coast and 10 days at Martha’s Vineyard.
