Congress MP Milind Deora will tie the knot with Bollywood producer-financier Manmohan Shetty’s daughter, Pooja, later this month. Milind and Pooja have known each other for some time.

“I immediately said yes when the two approached me for my consent some months ago,” the legendary Bollywood producer Manmohan Shetty told The Indian Express. Milind’s father, Murli Deora, is Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The two families are keeping the wedding date a closely-guarded secret, but those in the know say that the wedding will happen “in the next two weeks”. It’s going to be an extremely private affair, though. “It’s only the two families and close friends who will be present for the wedding,” said sources close to the two families.

When contacted, the 1976-born Mumbai-South MP said, “Pooja and I have known each other for some time now and we are looking forward to being together.”

Apart from being one of the prominent Gen Next Congress faces, Milind has been a passionate campaigner on issues ranging from global warming to HIV. He is also considered close to Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.

Pooja, on the other hand, has been assisting her father in film production.
