A 17-year-old girl, daughter of a central excise employee in Bhopal, allegedly committed suicide at their residence in Akash Flats at Adarsh Society in early hours of Saturday.
The deceased, Garima Dubey, had reportedly hanged herself after she couldn’t bear staying away from her father for a long time.
M H Vasani, police inspector investigating the case, said: “Primary investigation has revealed the girl was depressed as her father worked in Bhopal and stayed away from the family for four months. According to family members, the girl was close to her father.”
The police said further investigations in the case are on.
