A 14-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a Class X student in Bhavanpur area here, police said today.
The Class VIII student on Wednesday was taken to nearby forest area by her neighbour, where she was raped by him, a police official said.
The accused also threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone, he said.
The girl, however, narrated the incident to her parents the next day, following which they filed a case at the Bhavanpur police station.
A medical test conducted on the girl has confirmed rape, the official said
The accused has been booked under relevant sections and a search for him has been initiated, he said.
