For the past four days, fourth seed Simran Kaur Sethi registered upset wins over various players in the competition. The lanky tennis player managed to get into the girls singles' semi-finals with her confidence but Friday saw Sethi losing the steam. It was curtains for the Sethi as she lost 4-6, 3-6 to Dabin Kim of Korea in the semi-final encounter to bow out of the ITF I (Grade 3) Junior Circuit Tennis Tournament being played at CLTA courts.
Sethi lost the first set with a 4-6 margin before losing the second and final set with a 3-6 margin to Kim. However, Sethi paired up with Sri Vaishnavi P Reddy to claim the girls' singles title with a 6-4, 6-1 win over second seed Indian pair of S Reddy and Dhruthi Venugopal. Sethi/Reddy claimed the first set with a 6-4 margin before winning the second set with a 6-1 margin to claim the title.
In the boys' doubles final, top seed pair of Mehdi Abid and Skander Mansouri of Tunisia scored a 6-3, 7-5 win over Duck Hee Lee of Korea and Aoran Wang of China to claim the title. Abid/Mansouri first claimed the opening set with a 6-3 margin before winning the second set with a narrow 7-5 margin.
In the men's singles category, Duck Hee Lee of Korea rallied into the final with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Djurabeck Karimov of Uzbekistan. Lee claimed the first set with a 6-3 margin before winning the second set with a 7-5 margin to book a berth in the final.
In the other semi-final, second seed Skandar Mansouri of Tunisia ended the challenge of compatriot Majed Kilani with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Mansouri claimed the first set 6-2 before claiming the second set with an identical margin to move into the final. In the other girls' semi-final encounter, fifth seed Greetje Minnen of Belgium registered a 6-1, 6-2 win over Chanikaran Silakul of Thailand. Minnen won the first set with a 6-1 margin before claiming the second and final set with a 6-2 margin to move into the final.
