Mobile phones worth Rs 25 lakh were stolen from a shop situated near Ishmeet Chowk. The incident, as per the police, occurred late Saturday night. While the thieves did not touch the cash kept inside the shop, they ran away with mobile phones of various companies and one computer.
Gaurav Bedi, owner of the shop, said, "I had closed my shop late Saturday night. When I came to open it on Monday morning, I saw that the shutter of the shop was some two inches above the ground. The locks on the shutter were also broken. In the normal course of things, the shutter should have been touching the floor. So I called the police."
When the police opened the shutter, they found things scattered all around the place. On checking, they found mobile phones, some of them high-end, and a computer missing. The police claimed there were some images caught by the CCTV camera inside the shop.
