Modi Govt wants corporate houses to do their social bit

  • However, Chief Secretary Manjula Subramaniam is learnt to have opposed the plan to seek 30 per cent of PSEs’ PBT for social welfare, though Modi has called a meeting of chairpersons and MDs of state-run profit-making PSEs next week.

    Sources in the CMO confirmed that the CS, had opposed the plan, arguing that the move might hurt the interests of private investors who have invested heavily in the six Government-run listed companies.
