Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has tested positive for H1N1.
Modi, who returned from a three-day visit to Russia on October 27, has been quarantined at the Chief Minister’s residence and advised rest for a week.
Dr Atul Patel, who is treating Modi confirmed, at a Friday morning press briefing, that the Chief Minister is down with H1N1. “There is no cause for any concern regarding the CM’s health and he is responding to the treatment,” Dr Atul Patel said.
Modi showed signs of cold, cough and fever. When doctors examined him on Thursday, the Chief Minister insisted on an H1N1 test, Dr Patel said.
Though he attended a cabinet meeting and received visitors till the evening, he decided to cancel all official programmes for two days.
A doctor from his five-member medical team said the Chief Minister has been put on antibiotics and Tamiflu.
“The CM was running high fever Thursday night, but today the temperature has come down considerably which can be called normal,” the doctor said.
