Modi to visit China on Nov 8,with growth in mind

Chief Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit China for the third time. The trip is scheduled from November 8 to 12.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit China for the third time. The trip is scheduled from November 8 to 12.

New Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan had invited him during his visit to Gandhinagar in August. Yan had met Modi with the members of India-China Economic and Cultural Council.

Yan,during his visit,had expressed his desire for cooperation with a progressive state like Gujarat in economic and industrial sectors along with cultural relations.

Modi had briefed Yan about the relations between Gujarat and China since the Buddhist period to present day,and also introduced with all round progress of the state in recent times. Yan was in Gujarat to open the fourth chapter of India-China Economic and Cultural Council in Gujarat.

Emphasising on joint venture,Modi had said only mutual trade would not make any sense. There should be more joint ventures in manufacturing sectors on the soil of Gujarat.

He had compared Gujaratis,Chinese and Jews during his talk with the Chinese envoy. Modi showed interest to start classes for cooking Chinese foods and the Chinese language coaching centres in the state.

Sources said,“Recently many Gujarat-based companies got manufacturing and other facilities in China. Many Gujarati companies have established plants in China,and now the China is very keen to invest in manufacturing sectors in the state. So there are enough reasons for the chief minister to pay officials visit to China.”’

“China is keen to develop good ties with Modi because of his growing clout and possibilities of his bigger role in national politics in coming years,” he added.
