  • Anticipating heavy rush of spectators during the ODI cricket match between India and Australia scheduled at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium in Mohali on November 2, the district administration has earmarked 22 parking lots around the stadium. Earlier, only 14 parking lots were set up which failed to cope up with the large number of vehicles, leading to chaos on city roads. Taking note of the problem, Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh Mand directed to increase the number of parking lots to 22 this time. Reviewing the arrangements, Mand assigned duties to GMADA, MC, Health, Water Supply and Sanitation and Punjab State Electricity Board officials in order to avoid any inconvenience to visitors and local residents.

The DC issued specific directions to ensure adequate arrangements of clean drinking water, toilets, lighting, cleanliness, health facilities, colouring of roundabouts, road dividers and putting up of signboards for the convenience of spectators.
