Money matters

It’s a rag to riches story, but with a twist of its own.

It’s a rag to riches story, but with a twist of its own. Blood Money is the tale of a young Maharashtrian whose hard work lands him in a mesh of mafias involved in diamond trading. Starring Kunal Khemu,Amrita Puri and VJ Mia,this Bhatt camp product is the journey of the good in the world of the bad. The star cast of the film was in town at the Radisson Hotel,Kharadi,to promote the flick on Saturday. “2011 was a year of larger than life heroes. It was time that Bollywood tried experimenting with reality again. So we thought of a character which could match up to the life of a common man. That is how Blood Money was conceived,” said Khemu. For Puri, this is her first film as a lead heroine. “I play the good woman who doesn’t wish to part with her principles for the sake of money,” she shared. The film is also VJ Mia’s first attempt at films and she is excited. “Modeling is very easy for me now; I can even close my eyes and do it. But I want to improve my acting skills,” she says. It was sheer luck that dropped the project in her lap. “I received the offer through a random Facebook message. I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t called the number eight months back!” she added with a smile.
