Puneites have some reason to cheer about. With the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon being delayed, the city will continue to see monsoon activity in the coming week. “The withdrawal of monsoon has only started and will take more than a week to come to the state. The withdrawal which is usually seen on September 1, started only on September 26 this year,” said Medha Khole, director, weather central. According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon starts its withdrawal from Rajasthan on September 1. Pune local rainfall has been 30 per cent above normal while the overall district rainfall has been 20 per cent below normal.
