The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will have another 180 low floor buses added to its existing fleet of 350 buses in April. Transport minister Arvind Singh Lovely had earlier said that post March; the transport department will have more buses to ply on various routes in the Capital.
Of the 180 uses which will be added this month,100 will be non-AC and the rest 80 will be AC. These CNG run buses will have the latest technology like tubeless tyres to ensure no flat tyre problems and pneumatic doors for safety of passengers. The Delhi Government targets to bring in 2,500 such low-floor buses which will replace the killer blue-lines before the Commonwealth Games – 2010.
