More than seven in ten women want to go under the knife

Women see surgery as acceptable and desirable way to correct perceived imperfections: Survey.

More than seven in ten women want to get cosmetic surgery done, and almost half are actively planning to have it soon,a new survey has found.

The survey found that 61 per cent think they have “a right” to such procedures if they have insecurities and 35 per cent think they should be free on the NHS.

Most women also said they did not think plastic surgery was shameful and only 31 per cent would keep it a secret.

The most sought-after procedures were breast enlargement,36 per cent,liposuction,34 per cent, and nose jobs,14 per cent.

“The results show a worrying trend towards young women becoming obsessed with creating the “perfect” body image,” said Chantelle Horton, editor of More! Magazine, who conducted the poll.

“It is clear that young women see surgery as a normal, acceptable and desirable way to correct their perceived imperfections and they genuinely believe this would make them happier,” she added.
