On April 5, Saniya Singh, 15, was returning from school when a speeding truck hit her. She sustained multiple fractures in her legs and lost around 30 per cent skin and fat from the lower part of the body. Seeing her daughter fight for life for the past 45 days, Tripti Singh is now planning to sell her kidney and a portion of lever to meet the expenses to be incurred on Saniya’s treatment .

Tripti, a widow, had somehow managed Rs 5 lakh for the five major operations which Saniya has undergone so far. She still needs around Rs 6 lakh for five more operations required to save the girl’s life. Doctors said her condition is critical and it won’t be possible for Saniya to lead a completely normal life again, but they are making all possible efforts to make her fit.

Tripti said she has spoken to the doctors attending on Saniya if she could sell her kidney. The doctors have told her that they would see if there is any patient requiring kidney. Tripti has meanwhile got the necessary tests done for the purpose.

To help Tripti, Saniya’s schoolmates and students of other technical institutes have come forward to collect money for her treatment. Students of Harcourt Butler Technological Institute handed over Rs 12,000 to Tripti on Tuesday.
