Five months since a 26-year-old woman and her minor son had gone missing, police are clueless even as her two employers, who were booked for abduction and wrongful restra int, remain on the run.
On January 3,Manpreet Kaur, wife of ex-serviceman Surinder Pal Singh, along with her son Amanjyot Singh (4) had gone to work,as usual,at a finance companys office in Sector 70 here, but they never returned, said Kaurs father,Jarnail Singh,in his report to the local police.
Following the FIR lodged on February 1,police had booked Kaurs employers Rajesh Kumar and Sunny, who have since been on the run. Kaurs parents and in-laws now fear that the mother and son have either been killed or kept in illegal confinement.
Talking to Newsline over the phone,Kaurs father-in-law Amarjeet Singh said the family had been running from pillar to post but neither has the police found any clues nor have they arrested the accused, whose plea for anticipatory bail was rejected by both the Sessions and High Court.
Whenever we go to the concerned SHO,he tells us to wait for some days, after which Manpreet and Amanjyot will return safely, but now we are fed up of listening to such assurances, rued Amarjeet Singh, while accusing the field police officers of being hand-in-glove with the accused.
The SHO keeps telling us that Manpreet and Amanjyot are fine, but we fail to believe until they are brought to us, said Amarjeet Singh, adding even the senior police officials at district and state level repeat the SHO version of the story.
How can we believe that Manpreet has gone away willingly,as there was no dispute in our family and her mobile phone is inaccessible ever since her disappearance, asked her father-in-law.
On the other hand, the concerned police officials claimed that efforts were on trace the mother-son duo and nab the accused.
