‘Let’s Dance’ borrows from Hollywood films top-lining bright young things struggling to make it on the dance floor, with some Bollywood twists thrown in.

Suhani (Gayatri) has a twin-pronged agenda: she wants to keep her dance school going so that the bunch of neighbourhood slumkids have something to do other than peddle drugs.

She also wants to break into the tough world of music videos, without having to give ‘private’ auditions to sleazy choreographers. She’s got support from her roommate who’s a TV anchor (the perky Sugandha, last seen as one of the gang in ‘Jaane Tu Yaa Janne Na’) and a likely lad (Ajay) who runs a roadside eatery, and keeps supplying her with watermelon juice when she’s feeling low.

The film tells a straightforward story, with a couple of nice touches: the youngest slumkid’s hero worship of his dance teacher is sweet. But it needed to be much smarter, with terrific dancing and super sequences, which is the only way to drive a non-starry vehicle. Except for a spirited climactic song-and-dance, both are strictly average. Not enough to get us jiving

Nice MovieBy: Soumik | 04-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward I feel that this is a nice break from the "so called cliche romantic melodrama" of YSR ya KJ banners.Passion for Dance is the best and if you believe in your Dance, you can change the world to make it a better place to live in. That's the message of the movie and I think this is definately one time watch.Actors are good and so the music. Gayatri dances so well, so does Abhaas Yadav, leader of the street kid gang. And if its remake or inspired by any hollywood movie, then whats wrong in it?@ zahra saeed : Economy, Growth Stories, Stability, attention of the world community for good reasons etc are proving who are WINNER and who are LOOSER.Pakistani people need to turn up to India for million of reasons be it cultural, business or any assitance , not any Indians to Pakistan. INDIANS ARE NOT LOOSER. So don't try to pollute public forum with filthy words. Its shows your class !!
