If you’ve never heard of any of the above, you are forgiven. Neither have we. Till the prolonged stand-off in the film fraternity continues, such flicks as ‘Yeh Pal Ho Na Ho... Kal’ will come and go, inducing massive migraines.

No, running away not allowed: we insist you hear us out. Lovey-dovey married couple leads a merry life. He goes to office and works late. She dresses up, or down, as the mood takes her, and it takes her very often, and waits for him to come home.

Then one day, jock pal of husband takes a shine to always-waiting wife. He peers down her cleavage, conveniently arranged for him to do so, and makes a pass. She is outraged : “mere kapde western ho sakte hain, par main ek bharatiya nari hoon. Mera pati mera devta hai, main uski pooja karti hoon”. We kid you not.

So of course, worshipping wife has to give in to lustful friend. Various scenes follow involving necks being chewed and bare legs being tangled. In the bad old days, it used to be called hawas ki pyaas bujhana, and leading ladies who had to do these things usually ended up dead. Good husband spies upon them and swears revenge. Girl friend of lusty friend arrives, and is immediately dunked under a waterfall, all the better to show us what she’s made of.

And they all fetch up, along with a couple of cops, for a rain-soaked climax, putting an end to their misery. And ours.
