  • Now who would have thought that Bollywood’s famous bad boy is also a friend in need? But actor Salman Khan never ceases to surprise — he made a fleeting visit to Delhi on Wednesday to launch gold coins for his NGO, Being Human. “If my celebrity status can help a cause, then I am all for it,” he said. Khan will be in the capital again next month to walk the ramp for Sanjana Jon, sister of the convicted fashion designer Anand Jon. Sanjana will showcase her collection at the Wills India Fashion Week in October. The controversy might have scared other actors, but not Sallu. “Sanjana is a friend and she has suffered a lot during her brother’s trial. Now that she is in need of money and is starting her career all over again, I won’t disappoint her. I had a word with Anand and never thought he was a bad guy,” said Khan.

Does his benevolent mood have something to do with the mediocre success of his latest film Wanted? All he’ll say is that “It was great news for me that the audience loves the film”. He’s keeping his fingers crossed for his October 16 release Main Aur Mrs Khanna with Kareena Kapoor, which Khan claims is a heartwarming story about the ‘aam aadmi’. Now if only the regular guy gives it a thumbs up.
