MSP for wheat, sugarcane to be increased, says Hooda

Haryana government is likely to further increase the minimum support price of wheat and sugarcane,Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said here.

Haryana government is likely to further increase the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat and sugarcane,Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said here. “We had increased the rates for wheat and sugarcane. Next we would like power to flow from this land to the rest of the state. Once that happens we will further increase crop rates,” the chief minister said after laying the foundation of a thermal power project here.

Setting the tone for coming Lok Sabha elections,Hooda said that it was not a cakewalk to tide over the power crisis that was not only coming in the way of development but also hindering the progress of farmers. He claimed that under the pro-agrarian policies of the UPA Government at Centre,Rs 2,190 crore had been waived for the more than seven lakh farmers in the state.

Power Minister Randeep Surjewala said the government is on the verge of generating 6,000 mega watt power in four years while earlier governments could generate only 1,587 MW in a period of 40 years.
