  • Authorities at the Sardar Patel Boys Hostel of M S University (MSU) have sealed room no. 33, which was occupied by one Jabeer Hussain, a third-year Bachelor of Arts student.

Although hostel warden S Ingle said the room has been sealed as the student was doing some “illegal” work inside the room, the nature of the alleged illegal work remains unclear.

Ingle told Newsline, “Some illegal activities were going on in Hussain’s room.”

Asked as to what was the nature of the illegal activities, he said, “Students were living illegally in his room. I have offered Hussain another room, but he is not willing to shift.”

On his part, Hussain, who belongs to Aara district of Bihar, said: “I have been living in the room for the last two year, as I am a regular student. My roommate is Pramod Sharma and he has been paying his guest charges for the last one year. In fact, a few days ago, he gave Rs 300 as his guest charge. When Sharma demanded the fee receipt from Ingle, the latter refused to give it.”

J D Wadhwa, MSU Chief Warden in charge, said, “Hussain is a regular student of Hindi department and he should get a room in the SP Hall. The legality of allowing guests in his room should be checked. Also, Ingle’s intention of sealing the room is unclear.”
