MSU professor among six accused of Rs 2.58-cr fraud

  • The Vadodara police registered a case of cheating against a professor at M S University on Friday on a complaint filed by an audit officer with the Registrar of Cooperative Societies. Complainant Tarlika Deepawala has named Prof Umesh Dangarwala, who is also a chartered accountant, and five office bearers of the Vadodara Mahanagar Palika Safai Sevak Cooperative Society Ltd (VMPSSCSL) including Managing Director Vasudev Solanki as accused in the case.

    He has accused them fraud to the tune of Rs 2.58 crore.

    The complaint said the fraud took place over two years out of a loan amount of Rs 4.3 crore sanctioned by Indian Bank to the cooperative credit society. The complaint was filed following a report by a chartered accountant firm to the District Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
