Lavasa Corporation Limited on Saturday announced the launch of Mugaon,the second town to be built at Lavasa after Dasve. Mugaon will come up on an area of around 2,400 acres. The launch announcement was made by Rajgopal Nogja,group president,HCC in presence of finalists of Miss India pageant 2012. The finalists launched the Bellshore Apartments  the first in series of apartments up for sale at Mugaon.
Speaking on the occasion,Nogja said,The first two towns are part of the planned phase-1 development project,which has been cleared by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). Dasve,the first town is sold out and for Mugaon we have a long waiting list.
A residential,commercial,education and entertainment hub,Mugaon will have a 4 km long road stretch of a formal promenade. The town is designed on a theme inspired by the western coastal Indian architecture. A proposed exit from Mumbai-Pune Expressway via Lonavala and Tamhini (via tunnel) will reduce travel time between Mumbai and Lavasa by an hour.
Meanwhile,Lavasa Corporation has resumed its development activities post the environment clearance given by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. On the occasion,Nogja also presented the apartment key to Vrinda Ballal,the 100th citizen of Lavasa. Ballal owns an apartment at Portofino Street in Dasve.
